Finally, your braces have been removed and your smile is beautiful, straight, and best of all, metal-free! However, your orthodontic journey isn't quite completed. Retainers are to be worn 24/7 for the first 8 weeks after braces removal, then switched over to night time wear. Below are two types of retainers that are offered to our patients.

Types of retainers

• Acrylic Retainers: removable retainers including metal wire that surrounds the front teeth and is attached to an acrylic arch that sits in the roof of your mouth.

• Clear Suckdown Retainers: removable retainers that resemble that of a clear aligner to offer a more aesthetica alternative to wire retainers. This specific retainer covers the entire upper arch of your teeth from canine to canine.
